Which Pages Keep Users Longer?

Users usually spend more time on pages that provide useful and relevant information, such as product pages, service pages, detailed blog articles, comparison pages, and landing pages. A longer time spent on a page can indicate that the content is answering the visitor’s needs. 

Which Areas Get More Attention?

1. 🔝 Top Area — High Attention

The upper portion of the page generally receives strong attention because it is where users begin their interaction. Important information such as the logo, navigation, headline, value proposition, and primary CTA should therefore be easy to find.

2. ⬅️ Left Side — Strong Attention

For languages read left-to-right, eye-tracking research has found that users often concentrate more on the left side of the content area. Nielsen Norman Group’s research describes this as part of the F-shaped scanning pattern. Users typically scan horizontally near the top and then move down the left side.

3. 📰 Headlines & Subheadings — High Attention

Users frequently scan headings and subheadings before deciding whether to read the surrounding content. This is sometimes called the layer-cake scanning pattern. Strong headings therefore help users quickly understand what a section contains
